Today marks the final day of Peter L Maher’s time as Chief Executive Officer of St John Ambulance Queensland.
On behalf of the organisation, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate Peter’s outstanding leadership and the significant contributions he has made throughout his time with us.
Peter originally joined St John Ambulance Queensland in May 2024 for a period of 3 months, however agreed to continue during a period of considerable change. From the outset, he brought a steady hand, a clear vision, and a deep commitment to rebuilding trust—both within our own teams and with our valued stakeholders. His leadership has played a pivotal role in restoring stability and laying the groundwork for a stronger, more unified future.
During his time as CEO, Peter has worked closely with our teams to achieve to deliver a number of key milestones, including:

While these achievements speak volumes, what truly defined Peter’s leadership was his hands-on, grounded approach. Whether working directly alongside our teams or stepping in when it mattered most, Peter consistently demonstrated dedication and purpose.
