Media Release: St John Ambulance Queensland Welcomes Incoming CEO Peter Warrener

St John Ambulance Queensland Chair Mr Glen Morrison is pleased to announce that the Board has selected Mr Peter Warrener ASM as the new CEO of St John Ambulance Queensland (SJAQ).

Mr Warrener joins SJAQ from Queensland Ambulance Services (QAS) where he served in Senior Executive roles for over 20 years. Peter has extensive experience in strategic development and is also a registered paramedic, adding a valuable perspective to his leadership role.

In his previous role with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Peter led initiatives that enhanced community resilience.

He developed strategies for the delivery of effective models of primary healthcare to communities and implemented resilience education programs, including CPR awareness, virtual care, and referral services.

Additionally, he played a pivotal role in leading the COVID-19 response for communication centres throughout Queensland.

On accepting the role Mr Warrener said, “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to join St John Ambulance Queensland and the team of professionals serving the Queensland community in 2025.”

St John Ambulance Queensland is confident that under Peter’s leadership, the organization will continue to grow and enhance its services to the community, fostering a culture of excellence and compassion.
